Pro Pad Gel Seat | Baggers Tested

Comfort is of the utmost importance when on an extended motorcycle trip, in my opinion. Sure, the factory seats on most baggers these days are pretty darn comfortable, but why not take it to the next level if there’s something available for you to do so? Enter The Pro Pad, manufacturers of fine gel pad sheepskin seat pads. Say that 10 times fast.

The Pro Pad manufactures multiple motorcycle accessories for Harley-Davidson, Victory, and metric motorcycles, and its universal seat pads are a welcomed addition for your derriere on the long haul. While at the 2013 Sturgis Rally, we stopped by to chat with the purveyors of plushness and they turned us on to the SuprCruzr Real Sheepskin Pro Pad ($149.95) because we clued them in on our 1,500-mile trip home. What better way to test out a seat pad, right?

The SuprCruzr was designed for larger seats and features a 17-inch-long by 16-inch-wide base for the biggest of posteriors. It fits easily on Harleys, Hondas, Victorys, basically any motorcycle with a seat. The real sheepskin exterior is comfortable and extremely soft to the touch and claims to repel moisture, which it did brilliantly. And riding through Nevada and parts of Utah when it was 115 degrees Fahrenheit, it didn’t seem to make me warmer than I already was. The pad itself is made from a medical-grade polymer that’s extremely comfortable and doesn’t bunch up like a baggy pair of jeans causing discomfort. Overall, The Pro Pad did its job incredibly well, and we approve for anyone taking an extended motorcycle adventure.
