Baggers Tested | Powerhouse PH3100R1 Generator

Up Front New Stuff

While shooting bikes and on the road doing touring stories, we are in many areas where electricity is non-existent. Whether it is welding broken swingarms on the side of a deserted highway, or needing power to run our photography lighting gear, we depend on our tough-as-nails Powerhouse PH3100Ri Generator.

This isn’t your dad’s generator either. It uses a key, an old dependable pull start, or even a remote control similar to a car alarm chirper to kick over its massive variable-speed 6.8hp engine.

When up and running, the PH3100Ri is whisper-quiet and inverter-equipped so this generator provides clean power for all sorts of sensitive electronics like laptops and iPads. Believe it or not, half the time you see a blog post while we are on the road from our iPhones, we are probably plugged into the PH3100Ri.

In temperatures of 30 degrees up to 110 Fahrenheit, the Powerhouse works for hours on end without a hiccup and sucks less gas than any other generator of its size I have ever used.

It’s always good to have some self-owned power in your garage, trailer, or truck for when the weather is rough or when you are far away from a wall plug, or when the zombie apocalypse comes limping into your town.

All joking aside, after a few months of heavy usage, I can attest to the fact that this PH3100Ri is truly a powerhouse of a generator. It will easily get you through any and all moments of darkness you find yourself in with ease.
