Here is the ’10 Ultra Classic with the stock H-D tour-Pak brackets.

Why did you buy the bike you did? Was it for the style and cool looks or was it for the good gas mileage and all day rideablity? For most, the reason you bought that bagger was comfort and lots of ride time. You know that when you were a bit younger the hardtail was cool but not so comfortable. And once you started to find more ride time you wanted to find more comfort for all the miles you were racking up. So the bike started to get bigger and so did the seats. But how about when you are out on a solo ride? You might wish you had something to lean back on, something bigger then a little lumbar support pad, more like a big wall to rest on. If you own a touring bike with a tour pack you can see just how lucky your passenger can be to have that pack to lean on. Only if you could find a way to use the H-D tour-Pak yourself, how sweet would your rides be.

Well ask no more. Legends Vintage Motorcycles in Springville, Utah has put together a kit that has a three-piece seat and an adjustable sliding tour Pak rack (STP). The rack replaces the stock H-D tour-Pak mounting brackets with a sliding platform to mount the H-D tour-Pak on. The STP has an eight-point adjustment track and takes up the same space as the stock mounting system. Also to complete the kit, is a new three-piece seat. Once the sliding rack is in place and being used the stock seat would not allow the rack to move forward so the Legends’ kit has a passenger seat that can be removed and the rack can slide forward allowing the rider to use the H-D tour-Pak as a back support for comfort. The kit retails for $1,349. We stopped by Freedom Cycles in Orange, California where one of their customers just happened to have picked up a good deal on a used ’10 Ultra Classic. He happened to be looking for a seat with a little more comfort and was willing to let us install the new Legends STP rack and seat. Once we got started the install was easy and the bike was back on the road in just a few hours. B
