Screamin Eagle Exhaust And Airbox

One of the fastest and easiest ways to personalize your bagger is with a set of slip-on mufflers that bolt right up to the stock head pipes. In addition, with the combination of a freer flowing air cleaner, there is extra power to be had.

We were looking to de-stock our 103ci ’11 Road Glide Ultra and liked the looks of the Screamin’ Eagle (SE) FatShotz 2-Into-2 Slip-On Mufflers (80847-10, $429.95). The FatShotz are tuned to maximize airflow while having a deep, but still legal exhaust note. They are EPA stamped and 50-state street-legal on stock displacement engines. Fitment is for 50-state, ‘10-later (plus ‘09 California) Touring and Trike models with dual exhaust. Installation requires separate purchase of two muffler clamps (65296-95A $7.25 each).

02. Removing the saddlebag revealed the stock muffler. There are three fasteners securing the muffler; 2 on the muffler hanger (red arrows) and one on the muffler clamp (arrow) that were removed. Pardon the dirty pipe and wet bike—it was raining on the way to the install.

For the intake assembly we went with the SE Ventilator Performance Air Cleaner Kit in Gloss Black (29915-09, $239.95). A chrome version is available as well. The Ventilator features a low-profile exposed filter element that increases airflow into the engine to boost power. An included waterproof rain sock protects the filter in the rain. Street legal when used with stock mufflers. Fitment is for ‘09-later Touring and Trike models.

A dealer-performed ECM calibration was necessary to match the fuel and ignition maps to the increased airflow.

  • 05. Any time a muffler/exhaust has been touched with bare hands it must be wiped clean before startup. Otherwise the oil in your hands, even just a fingerprint, will burn in and discolor the pipe.
