As we move on with the makeover of our '04 Road King we are going to fill in the bottom cutouts on our new Sinister saddlebags with a Rinehart True Duals exhaust system. I want to point out that there was nothing wrong with the pipe that was on the bike, it worked, looked, and sounded good. However with the new bags we needed a dual set-up and John Shope, owner of Sinister Industries, only uses Rinehart pipes because they fit the bags' cutaway the best. Not to mention that they perform great and sound good. Also with the new pipes we needed to tune (map) the bike and Rinehart now offers a fuel management system called the Rinehart Performance Module (RPM) to do just that. 01. Here is the Rinehart True Dual Touring system with 4-inch mufflers, chrome heat shields, and all the mounting hardware. Also the header pipes have 02-ports if needed. Starting price of the pipes $989.9501. Here is the Rinehart True Dual Touring system with 4-inch mufflers, chrome heat shiel We contacted the guys at Rinehart to ask about the pipes and RPM tuner and we were told that Rinehart Racing has enjoyed a rich tradition in the racing industry. They have designed many championship-winning exhaust systems throughout the years for a variety of racers in different series, ranging from AHDRA teams to NASCAR drivers. The experience in these realms has allowed them to develop their own unique stepped header configuration, which maximizes an engine's potential. By applying the right step length measurements and header angles in the primary tubes and mating them with a complementary muffler design, they can effectively scavenge every bit of horsepower and torque the motor has to offer. Also knowing that most guys that want to swap pipes also need to tune the bike, Rinehart wanted the ability to offer a one stop shop. 02. Here is the Rinehart RPM fuel management system, with programmable PC cable and softw The RPM is a new fuel tuning system, and it works in conjunction with Rinehart's performance exhaust products. The RPM is a user-friendly unit that allows the installer to ride his motorcycle within minutes of completing installation. It is an open loop Alpha-N system that was developed by DynoJet Research; it comes preloaded with 10 various Rinehart Racing exhaust fuel maps. An installer simply plugs the unit into the stock ECM, turns a dial to the appropriate map number according to the guide provided, and gets ready to ride. If the user feels comfortable with doing custom tuning to their motorcycle, they also have the ability to link the RPM with a computer and make custom modifications to their fuel maps. Users will also have the ability to access and upload any existing Power Commander map through the Dynojet online database. The RPM is priced at $299.95. We ran the bike over to Horn Cycles Works in Pomona, California to get the pipes installed and use the dyno. We were in and out the same day with a new look and sound along with a few extra horsepower. 1 | 2 | 3 | » | View Full Article By Ernie Lopez Enjoyed this Post?
