Klock Werks FLHT Upgrade In the past installments of Klockin' the Standard we mocked up the sheetmetal, sent the the tins off to paint, and installed a set of Klock Werks bars on our project '05 FLHT. For this installment we really got our hands dirty and installed one of Klock's Mo Tire 180 kits. The Kit is relatively simple to install and used an OEM H-D belt. Unlike many wide tire kits, the Mo Tire 180 did not need a swingarm replacement, extended main shaft, offset primary,or any sort of transmission disassembly-keeping things really simple. The kit includes a stretched rear fender, upper filler panels, pulley, all necessary mounting hardware, and needed gaskets. The sheetmetal is off at the painter after we mocked it up in a previous issue. Look for it in an upcoming article. We have found many kits to be just too much work to get only a slightly larger tire, but the Mo Tire 180 kit installed in less than three hours with no issues. It allowed us to get a bit more beef out back and further update the look of our bike. (1.) To start the wide tire kit upgrade, we drained the oil out of the primary case. (2.) We then removed the primary case from the left side of the bike. (3.) The primary chain and clutch were removed and inspected for wear. (4.) The inner primary's locking safety tabs were pried away from the mounting bolts for removal.(4.) The inner primary's locking safety tabs were pried away from the mounting bolts for r (5.)
