Harley-Davidson System Modular Helmet & Road Tech Helmet Bluetooth System - Head Games

I am a very picky person when it comes to helmets. So picky in fact, that when I am not officially riding for the company, I wear an old ratty, yet comfortable helmet from years ago. That was until I strapped up H-D's System Modular Helmet ($275) that fit my dome like they made the mold off of my head. It is the first modular helmet that I have worn that I actually wanted to keep on my head. The helmet is constructed of a fiberglass thermoplastic chin bar that flips up with the click of a big red button. I loved the fit and ease of using a modular helmet, but I wish the helmet came with a smoked shield included along with the clear one, since I hate sandwiching my glasses into my helmet.

I thought nothing could add to the coolness of the helmet until I installed the Road Tech Bluetooth system. When I found out that I could listen to music or talk on a cellular phone hands-free while wearing the helmet I rode home and immediately installed it.

The kit comes with setups for both 3/4 and full-face helmets, but I had to rob parts from each to get it to work on the modular helmet. As far as the performance of the system, when on a call, anyone who heard me found it hard to believe that it was a Bluetooth connection through a motorcycle helmet at speed and not just me rambling away on my iPhone. The headphones were adequate when on a call, but when playing music they could have been a bit louder and had more bass, but I am deaf from decades of punk rock, so I am probably not the best judge on that matter.
