Did you know that there are over 27 bones in the human hand? Did you also know that many of us riders contract both permanent and temporary carpal tunnel syndrome by either not using or riding with cheap gloves? We searched through a few hundred gloves and found 11 of them that we liked enough to put in our glove buyer's guide. We spent a bit of time in the saddle with each of these gloves and found them all to be comfortable gloves with many different features that may fit your personal taste and style. B

Oakley

Dirt Glove

$35 www.oakley.com (800) 431-1439

Though this glove is designed for the dirt, we have found it to be a great lightweight glove for all-day rides in the hot sun. Made from man-made leather and Lycra with contrast stitching.

Firstgear

Ultra Mesh Glove

$19.95 www.firstgear-usa.com (866) 302-5676

A nice, cool glove for the hot days, these are tough as nails and have leather palms, a mesh back with a Velcro closure and side stretch panels for a snug fit. One of our favorites.

Tour Master

Deerskin Glove

$49.99 www.tourmaster.com (800) 421-7247

Constructed with formfitting deerskin leather, this glove features a Velcro-backed wrist strap with an elastic wristband that provides a secure fit. Perforated fingers provide ventilation. A tough yet comfortable choice.

GripSwell

Cruising Glove

$51.95 www.moto.gripswell.com (714) 379-9413

Made from real leather, the Cruising Glove is hand-sewn with a palm made of a special PFM memory foam that fills the anatomical void created when the cupped hand meets the grip. This is one very comfortable glove for extended rides.

Cortech

HDX Glove

$41.99 www.tourmaster.com (800) 421-7247

The HDX features molded Pittards digital goatskin leather knuckles, a two-way Spandex stretch material in the thumb, fingers and top of the hand as well as a goatskin panel to minimize wear from grip flanges. These gloves wear like iron.

Isotoner

Men's Suede Slip-On Glove

$30 www.totes-isotoner.com (513) 682-8419

These suede gloves provide exceptional warmth against the cold. Made of genuine leather with an ultra-soft micro-terry lining with an elastic wristband that has a lining to keep out cold air and provide a secure fit. They're super comfy but wear fast.

River Road

Laredo Glove

$24.95 www.riverroadgear.com (866) 212-2389

Made from the smoothest of naked cowhide leathers, the Laredo also features a gel pad in the palm for comfort and nerve protection with a secure Velcro closure strap across the top of the wrist. Buttery smooth leather makes this glove a favorite.

Accelerant Glove

$75 www.rideicon.com

These durable streetbike-styled gloves have a formfitting cowhide chassis, reinforced rubber knuckles, a YKK backhand zipper and 3D breathable ballistic nylon stretch panels with a goatskin leather inlay. A bit overkill, but it fits very well.

Harley-Davidson

Windshielder Gauntlet Glove

$80 www.harley-davidson.com

Constructed of real leather, these full-finger gloves are fully lined with a windproof membrane of Windtex, which is laminated to DuPont Thermolite insulation for superior wind resistance. Other features include a gauntlet cuff, adjustable strap and an elastic wrist closure system. They don't feel as big and bulky as they look.
