Wave It Wide and High
Show your patriotism by proudly flying the good ol' Stars and Stripes from the back of your scooter. Don't just buy a cheap flag and MacGyver it to the back of your expensive machine. Do it right as the flag deserves. Pro Pad's stainless steel motorcycle flag mounts are some of the nicest-made pieces you'll ever find. These hand-polished flag mounts are a great complement to your bike, be it dyed-in-the-wool American or metric.
The fixed 1/2-inch bar mount (shown with standard size flag) comes complete with a polished-stainless mounting bracket, 9-inch pole, 6x9-inch flag, plus two Allen wrenches. A larger Old Glory is shown with the 7/8-inch flag mount designed to fit the round license plate bars found on most Harley Classics, Road Kings, Street Glides and Road Glides and is available with either a standard (6x9-inch) or a parade (10x15-inch) flag. The 10x15-inch parade flags are made from a durable, 35 percent cotton/65 percent polyester blend. These flags are double-sided and triple-stitched for countless miles of riding pleasure. The 1/2-inch sleeve comfortably fits well over the 3/8-inch-diameter poles, allowing the flag to stay in shape during riding. Mounts are available for a variety of applications, including the license plate bar, saddlebag guardrail, sissy bar, square luggage rack and Tour-Pak rack mounts as well as foldable/adjustable options.
All motorcycle flag mounts come with a flag, Allen keys and a limited lifetime warranty (excluding flag). Every part of every mount is made in the USA. A variety of different flag styles are available; contact Pro Pad for more details and styles. For more information, call (800) 403-2714, or log on to http://www.thepropad.com.
It's In Your Control
Adjustable Power and Noise
Want significant improvement in performance and the ability to easily adjust noise level and backpressure? Sturgis Thunder Pipe Works has a practical and affordable solution with their new slip-in adjustable baffles for straight pipes. With a wide range of adjustability and patent pending technology, adjustments are simple, quick and very effective. Installation is also very quick and easy, no "high skill level" needed--just drill two 1/4-inch holes (template included) on the bottom side of each pipe, slide baffles in approximately 2 inches, insert two bolts and washers (supplied), and you're ready for baffle adjustments.
This easily adjustable baffle system allows you to quickly make adjustments for volume, tone and backpressure by means of two separate, well-designed adjustment mechanisms. Throttle response and performance gains can be felt immediately by changing the position of the port covers bolted to the baffle. Baffles come with mild and wild port covers to let you decide how much power and noise comes from the pipe. Baffles are available for a wide range of pipe diameters and are designed to work on Harley-Davidson, Victory and all metric cruiser motorcycles. Fix Your Own Flat
There aren't many instances more frustrating and time-consuming than getting a flat while out on the road. It usually involves a phone call (if you're lucky enough to have cell service), waiting for a tow truck, then waiting some more for a shop to repair the flat. We recently experienced such a situation while far away from home. An errant roofer's nail made its way into the tread, robbing the tire of its much-needed air.
Luckily we were carrying one of Genuine Innovations' tire repair kits in the saddlebag. In about 10 minutes (six of which were spent reading the instructions), the hole was patched and filled with enough CO2 to get to a shop to have the tire checked out.
At the heart of this kit (PN 3516, MSRP $39.99) is the Ultraflate Plus CO2 inflator and three 16-gram CO2 cartridges. Also included in the 6.5x5-inch nylon zippered bag are reamer tools, five plug sticks, a tube and tire patch assortment and glue. This kit works perfectly for the tubeless tires found on most touring bikes. Tube-type tires found on most spoked wheels require removing the wheel and tire, which is obviously a more demanding roadside fix.
