Growing up with brothers who were mechanics and always turning wrenches with them was the way Mike DeHerrera spent his younger years. "Back in those days we were really into low-riders, from the hydraulics to the custom paint. We never could afford a custom paint job so I taught myself how to paint." said Mike. Not an easy task.

Having won numerous awards throughout the low-rider and motorcycle industries all his hard work was starting to pay off, from Best of Show to Best Paint/Graphics including winning the Bagger class three years in a row at the competitive Colorado Motorcycle Show & Swap. As one of the top painters in Colorado his work has been featured on the Speed Channel and recognized by House of Kolor's John Kosmoski.

Now it was time for Mike to build his bike, his way. It started with a '04 Electra Glide Standard and became the "Tangerine Dream" starting with Green, Silver and Red basecoats. After spending so much time with the candy paint and having over 80 hours in just flame work alone Mike just couldn't live with the stock black frame. So he had to prep the frame to match the rest of the bike with extra help from good friend Paul Wilson laying down the graphics.

With the purchase of an Arlen Ness bag extension and rear fender kit it was time for the customizing to begin. Mike's first order of business was to french in the Pro-One taillights/license plate. Next, Mike extended the front fender 5 inches and lowered the frontend another 2, later adding the Tricky Air Aide shocks to the rear. The bike rolls on 18-inch Performance Machine wheels wrapped with Metzeler rubber and matching PM rotors, giving the Glide a stylish stance.

Tunes were next so a 8-inch flop up DVD/CD player was added, with two 6x9 speakers in the saddlebags, a 400 watt Alpine amp, and two 5 3/4 speakers in the inner fairing. This was just what Mike needed to hear the music over the loud Bassani True Duals exhaust system. Mike wanted to give special thanks for all the help and support from his family and friends for helping the Tangerine Dream come to life.
