Baggerland | Our Sturgis Trip

By , Photography by , Jordan Mastagni

Every year the staff of Baggers heads out to Sturgis. Some by bike and some by plane, but we all have the same notion. Shoot as many bikes and babes in action as we can for our readers who couldn’t make the journey themselves and for the ones that did so they reflect on the trip now that they are finally sober.

Thousands of motorcycle devotees made the scene this year. Bagger enthusiasts from all parts of the globe descended on this normally small town to see who had the newest and trickest touring bikes. Builders like Arlen Ness, Roland Sands, Paul Yaffee, Rinehart, FBI, and even Willie G. had some of the wildest bagged bikes to date.

We spent a week riding around the Black Hills of South Dakota and roaring through Deadwood hitting up the casinos, bars, and eateries. Nightly when we weren’t in the hilltop boomtown, we were either back in Sturgis on Main Street waltzing around or seeing some bands strut onstage at the Buffalo Chip, Broken Spoke, or Full Throttle Saloon.

There were more folks on tricked out touring bikes than ever at Sturgis in 2011. Whether it’s baggers or fun bags you are after, do yourself a favor and get your booty out to Sturgis next year. We swear we’ll buy you a frosty one when we see you.

Enough talk, here’s some sweet photos of the real action!
