ANAMOSA, Iowa - Midwest values and a strong work ethic - treating our customers the way we would want to be treated. That's what J&P Cycles(r) believes in and stands behind. Located in the heart of the Midwest, the one-of-a-kind party that is the J&P Cycles(r) Open House began years ago as a simple Customer Appreciation Day.
In 2009, the one day event turned into a two-day extravaganza drawing more than 22,000 people to J&P Cycles(r) headquarters in the cornfields of Eastern Iowa. This June 26-27, J&P(r) is setting the stakes even higher as they try to beat last year's attendance numbers.
To do so, the entertainment for this year's event is new, fresh and exciting. Circus Una is a new act to the Open House. A high-flying entertainment act featuring two women, Circus Una is known for having a motorcycle, dancer and rider balance themselves on a thin wire suspended in the air.
As the National Motorcycle Museum wraps up their expansion to a new, larger facility, the Open House will serve as a preview for the new location and debut the AwesomeNess exhibit, all about famed motorcycle legend Arlen Ness. Ness will join in the festivities during the Open House. Accompanying Arlen will be his son, Cory and grandson, Zach. A special Motorcycle Museum Fund-Raiser is planned for Saturday evening, June 26. See the work-in progress and mingle with Arlen and other Museum supporters. A $40 donation per guest is requested and includes a heavy hors d'oeuvre reception plus will help the Museum fund future projects! To register for this event, go to: http://www.nationalmcmuseum.com/servlet/StoreFront.
Additionally, the ILL Conduct Motorcycle Stunt Show will perform and Cristine Sommer Simmons, author of The American Motorcycle Girls 1900-1950 will do a book signing. The Timeline Motorcycle, featuring a timeline of motors will be displayed.
Plus, if you love looking at motorcycles - we will have plenty of eye candy to find on the J&P grounds (our customers and attendees), but we are also having two bike shows for the weekend. The first bike show is being held on Saturday, June 26 and will
feature motorcycles of all makes and models and is sponsored by American Iron and RoadBike magazines. Sunday, June 27, will be the time for vintage and retro bobbers to shine. This show is sponsored by IronWorks magazine. Registration for both shows will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. both days. The registration cost is only $15. Awards will be handed out at 3 p.m. each day of the shows.
The fun does not stop there! The Teresi Dyno Drag will be on hand as will the J&P Cycles(r) Showroom Semi, where some of the coolest products on the market will be displayed! Sign-up to win over $5,000 in door prizes and a chance to win the 2010 J&P Cycles(r)/Easyriders Build-A-Bike Sweepstakes Bike. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to visit with representatives from more than 75 manufacturers and view their latest products.
A silent auction will be held to benefit the National Motorcycle Museum. True motorcycling enthusiasts will enjoy the shopping! J&P Cycles(r)' enormous inventory of parts and accessories will be available for viewing. Most products in the showroom will be 10 percent off (15 percent for Gold Club members) and a portion of the one-acre warehouse will be devoted to drastically reduced clearance items (up to 50 percent off).
