The Rosebowl Custom Motorcycle Event in Southern California
The Champion Location of Custom Motorcycles

First time shows have a hard road ahead of them right from the gate-considering how many events there are that have established themselves. In the SoCal area, there is something motorcycle-related happening every weekend from now to the end of the next millennium. OK, that's the down side. But the up side is the location of most of these events. The Rose Bowl is no exception-and what a location! Besides being home to "the" college football game of the year, it's also home to a motorcycle event in the latter part of June.
Horse Power Promotions did an excellent job of filling the ring around the perimeter of the Rose Bowl with vendor displays, band stages, cool water misters, and beverage sellers. On the main stage near the entrance was where some of the guys from Lifestyle Cycles changed out engines in one of the mechanic's bikes. The engine in question was a 113ci S&S Evo with 112,000 miles. It was now headed back to S&S Cycle in Wisconsin for a tear down to check wear patterns. We should have a report from S&S on those wear patterns in a few issues.
The first time ever Rose Bowl event was not that crowded, so walking around gave everyone plenty of space to get up close and personal with every bike on display. There were no lines to wait in (except the beer line), and the vendors could answer all your questions. We're sorry you missed this one. Next year's Rose Bowl event will be off the hook.
